Former University of Detroit big man Eli Holman has signed with Hapoel Eilat, a professional team in Israel. From EuroBasket:

The American Power Forward / Center will debut in Europe in the upcoming season.

In 2006-2007 he appeared for Richmond High School, Richmond, CA and then in 2007-2008 moved to Indiana (NCAA). In his first season his stats read 6 games: 1.0ppg, 1.7rpg.

In 2008-2009 moved to Detroit Mercy (NCAA) and the year after averaged 11.8ppg, 8.9rpg, 2.5bpg, FGP: 61.4%, FT: 63.3%. In 2010-2011 for Detroit Mercy (NCAA) he showed 11.8ppg, 9.6rpg, 1.6bpg, FGP: 60.7%, FT: 69.4%. Last season for his NCAA team his stats read 10.8ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.3bpg, FGP: 60.7%, FT: 59.5%.

In 2012 Eli Holman participated at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (Pre-NBA Draft) and showed 8.3ppg, 4.7rpg.
Over the last few seasons he was named into All-Horizon League 2nd Team -11 and Horizon League All-Defensive Team -11. Moreover Eli Holman became an All-Horizon League Sixth Man of the Year -12.

Holman, who was undrafted, played with the Houston Rockets in the NBA Summer League, though he only saw action briefly in one game. With his size, athleticism and defensive capability, if he continues to develop overseas, it’s a good bet he’ll get another look in the NBA soon.
