Checking options for your small business

Today, we all have quite a few choices for just about everything in our lives. This is particularly true for products and services. As a business owner, I am always trying to figure out how to take advantage of this. Let's take chacking products as an example. At first, you may think that it doesn't matter what kind of checks you use. Nothing could be further from the truth. Here are some things I consider when I purchase checks:

1. The quality of the checks.
There is no question that using high-quality checks gives your business a much better image. I try to avoid plain, generic checks. On the other hand, I avoid the ones that seem too ornate as well. A company like Deluxe offers hundreds of designs you can choose from, and I try to choose designs that are consistent with the image I want my business to convey.

2. Manual or laser checks.
If you print your checks using an accounting program such as Quickbooks, then you should be purchasing checks that are compatible with your program. The problem is that your choices for the style of checks has traditionally been very limited for laser checks. This isn't the case if you use my favorite check vendor, Deluxe Checks.

3. High security checks.
Depending on the type of business you run, you may want to invest a few extra dollars to purchase high-security checks, which have anti-fraud features that make them a lot more secure than traditional checks.

4. Customized checks.
I quite frankly think all businesses should be purchasing customized checks that include their logos. The price of such checks can be a bit more than standard checks, but if you use Deluxe checks coupon codes, then you can usually get a discount on your purchase. There are quite a few companies you can order your checks from. As you may have gathered from reading this article, I currently prefer a company called Deluxe. They have been in the financial business for over 100 years, and have done a great job ensuring that the products the sell keep up with the times.
