An injury last season limited Walled Lake Western class of 2013 big man Miroslav Jaksic in his first season playing high school basketball in Michigan. Jaksic recently talked with Mary Caton of the Windsor Star (Jaksic started his high school career in Windsor) about his hopes to build on an impressive summer with improved play this season:

“This is a very big year for me personally and for us as a team,” Jaksic said. “Last year was a tough year for me. I had the stress fracture to start and I had a hard time adapting to a new environment. I didn’t accomplish what I wanted to and neither did the team. It’s still on my mind this year.”

In our preview of Oakland County basketball yesterday, Scott M. Burnstein picked Jaksic as one of the top five players in the county. He’s also one of the top big men in all of Michigan.
