Cornerstone’s Jake Plite named WHAC Player of the Week

Cornerstone University junior Jake Plite has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Player of the Week. From the news release:

The accolade marks Plite’s first player of the week honor in his career and the first for the Golden Eagles this season.

Plite averaged 14.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and shot 63.2 percent from the field (12-of-19) in two WHAC wins last week.  He opened the week with a career-high 17 points, one assist, and eight rebounds and going 8-of-11 in the Golden Eagles’ win at home against Siena Heights.  On Saturday at Marygrove College, Plite had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds, in addition to three assists and a block.

Plite leads the Golden Eagles this season in the rebounding category with 49 rebounds overall and averaging 6.1 per game.
