As part of his MAC basketball preview, Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo! Sports predicted Eastern Michigan‘s Glenn Bryant will be the MAC Newcomer of the Year.

Bryant is a 6-foot-8 forward who transferred from the University of Arkansas last year and will be eligible this season. He’s a lanky shot-blocker who averaged four points and three rebounds per game in the SEC as a sophomore.

Eastern’s roster will have no shortage of possibilities for the award — Wyoming transfer Daylen Harrison is eligible this season and JUCO transfers James Still of Henry Ford Community College (read my story on Still here) and Austin Harper, who also played briefly at Western Michigan, of Glen Oaks Community College.

Eisenberg predicted Eastern would once again win the MAC West with Central Michigan in third and Western Michigan in fourth.
