Oakland University picks up JUCO transfer who could contribute immediately

The Oakland basketball team added some size to its frontcourt with the addition of Diablo Valley (Calif.) Community College player Raphael Carter. Paul Kampe of the Oakland Press reports Carter should get minutes immediately:
Diablo Valley (Calif.) Community College transfer Raphael Carter, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward, has joined Oakland and will be eligible immediately. Kampe expects Carter to serve as a backup for sophomore forward Corey Petros and possibly start at power forward.
“He could really help us,” (Greg) Kampe said.
Greg Kampe also told Paul Kampe that Carter is Oakland’s first JUCO transfer since 2005.
