Deshawn Sims, a standout forward at Detroit Pershing and the University of Michigan, has signed with the Sagesse pro team in Lebanon, according to EuroBasket:

Sims will arrive to Lebanon from Korea, after having a great season where he averaged in 48 games: Score-4 (23.9ppg), 9.6rpg, 1.9apg, 1.3spg, FGP: 55.2%, 3PT: 28.8%, FT: 70.2%. Sims out of Michigan had a great NCAA career where he averaged in his senior year : 16.8ppg, 7.6rpg, 1.1spg, FGP: 49.2%, 3PT: 28.4%, FT: 67.0%. The 24 years old played in Greece, Puerto Rico, NBDL and Korea before coming for his first experience in the middle east.

Sims played with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League and had some strong performances, but Phoenix has most of its roster spots accounted for already. Sims’ mix of size, rebounding and shooting range should get him in the NBA at some point and he’s showed continual improvement as a professional player.

Sagesse also signed former Ole Miss star Aaron Harper heading into this season. Another Detroit native, Jay Youngblood, has been one of the top import players in Lebanon for two different clubs.
