Detroit Pershing great Kevin Willis, 50, says he could still play in the NBA

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports tweeted this interesting note about Detroit Pershing and Michigan State great Kevin Willis:
.@kevinwillis42 turned 50 today, is in great shape & tells Y! he could play 15-20 min a game in NBA now & would return if a team is serious.

I doubt Willis could play 15-20 minutes per game — Ben Wallace, an arguably even more impressive physical specimen than Willis, can barely handle that workload and he’s 13 years younger. But Willis did actually play in the NBA pretty recently, appearing in five games for the Dallas Mavericks at age 44 in 2006-07.
I doubt he’d be more than an end-of-bench player, but I have no doubt Willis could play a veteran designated fouler role for some team, considering the dearth of capable backup big men in the NBA.
