Oakland Community College’s Clavontae Brown will play at Saint Andrews University

Former Oakland Community College player Clavontae Brown recently committed to Saint Andrews University, a NAIA school in North Carolina. Brown has been a solid and versatile rotation player for OCC the past two seasons. Last year, he averaged 3.6 points per game on a squad that was, in my opinion, clearly the second best JUCO team in Michigan and deserving of a national tournament berth. Unfortunately for them, they play in the same conference as Mott Community College, and only one team per conference can go.

At any rate, Brown should be a good player at the NAIA level. He was known in high school at Flint Northern for his athleticism. Here’s what Jared Field, then of the Flint Journal, wrote about him a few years ago:

1.) Clavontae Brown, 6-1 senior, Flint Northern: Brown’s hops are flat-out disgusting when you find out that he weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 210 pounds at 6-1.
