Hillsdale picks up Division I transfer
August 24, 2012 in Division II
Hillsdale College announced this week that it has added transfer Zach Miller from Northern Illinois University. From the news release:
The Chargers announce the addition of point guard Zach Miller to the program for the upcoming season. Miller will be a sophomore, after spending his freshman season at Northern Illinois University, located in DeKalb, Ill. Miller joins incoming freshmen Lucas Grose, Kyle Cooper and Nick Archer as the latest wave of players to join the 2012 GLIAC regular season champions.
In 2011-12, Miller started six games, and played in 19 overall for the Huskies. He averaged 18 minutes per game while shooting 92 percent from the free throw line, scoring 48 points with 37 assists and 24 rebounds. He also had 11 steals and drained nine 3-point field goals for NIU.
Miller will be eligible to play this season, since transfers who go down a division don’t have to sit out a season, per typical NCAA transfer rules.
