Josh Moon of The Only Colors has two more interviews from last weekend’s Moneyball Pro-Am opener. He talked to incoming Michigan State freshman Gary Harris and Denzel Valentine.

Valentine discusses playing on the same Moneyball team as his brother, Oakland‘s Drew Valentine, and what his role will be at MSU next season:

Do you have a preference playing wing or point guard with the ball in your hands?
“Yep, I’d like to have the ball in my hands as much as possible. But I haven’t been there, this is my first year, so if I don’t get that enough, I have to adjust my game to wherever they put me at because you know I want to play.Whatever they put me at is what I want to do.”

Time will tell what role best suits Valentine as a college player, but his passing ability definitely makes him intriguing. With Draymond Green gone, MSU loses its best passer and playmaker (not to mention scorer and rebounder) and it remains to be seen how this team develops an identity in his absence.
