Saginaw Valley State coach Randy Baruth has added his first player since taking over as coach, and at 6-foot-9, Kalen Foreman, a JUCO transfer from Gillette College, will add some size up front for the Cardinals. From Baruth in a news release:

“Kalen brings athleticism, length, and a fantastic family upbringing and a true understanding of the team concept,” commented coach Baruth.

Foreman is coming off his second year of collegiate play at Gillette College where he posted 6.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest in the 2011-12 campaign.

“We are excited to work with Kalen and help him become the best player he can be,” said coach Baruth.

Formeman, who played high school basketball at Allen Academy in Detroit, was a big-time shot-blocker at Gillette, holding the school record for blocks in a game and blocks in a season.
